Why do we practice full body workouts? Shouldn’t we be leaving a rest day between hitting each major muscle group?
The reason that Abby’s plan is set up as 4 days of full body exercise is because this allows us to hit essentially every major muscle group 4x per week. This is as compared to only 1-2x per week when we were following a body part split.
As compared to the body part split, the amount of reps x sets (volume) per muscle group is less per day. Overall it works out to about the same total reps x sets across the week, we’re just increasing the training frequency and frequency of stimulating muscle growth which should give us a slight edge.
