What is active rest?
Active rest (or AR) refers to taking a break from your regular, high-intensity weight training to do some light-to-moderate exercise only. The intention is to allow your body to recover from the weightlifting days before, but still get some blood flowing to those fatigued muscles.
Examples of active rest activities include walking, running, hiking, swimming, yoga, taking a boxing class, cycling… the list goes on. Several of our members really love taking pole fitness classes on their AR days!
